IELTS

The IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is structured to evaluate the English language abilities of non-native speakers who plans to study, migrate or work in the countries where English is the medium of communication.

The two types of IELTS tests are the Academic and General Training tests. The IELTS Writing and Reading tests are different in these two types of tests. For example, the Academic test contains topics suitable for the aspirants entering university or professional institutions. On the other hand, the General Training test has topics based on general interest.

Test format

The test is designed to assess the aspirant’s ability to listen, read, write and speak in English. IELTS is graded on a scale of 1-9. The test content reflects everyday situations. IELTS testing system focuses on the candidate’s practical ability to use English language in real-life situations.Once graded, the IELTS score is valid for two years.

  • The entire IELTS is clubbed with 4 modules:
  • Listening (40 minutes)
  • Reading (1 hour)
  • Writing (1 hour)
  • Speaking (11 - 15 minutes)
